KeyToKorean.com was created in September 2012 with two main purposes in mind:
- To motivate and push me (and people like me) to study Korean more diligently
- To provide educational materials and Korean-language resources for my wife’s private class students
Meet our amazing team.

Web Master / Content Creator
Hi. My name is Aaron Snowberger and I was once an unmotivated Korean language learner.
Kuk Eun Young (KEY)
Onsite Teacher / Inspiration
My wife is Korean. Her name is 국은영 (Kuk Eun Young). That means her English initials are K.E.Y. (hence the name of the website).
Our Vision
Although my wife’s English initials sparked the idea for our site name, KeyToKorean is really about a lot more than just that. In fact, I do believe there is a KEY to Korean, and that is your personal mindset.
The KEY to Korean is MINDSET.
I’m a testimony to that statement. When I started this blog, I had already lived in Korea for 6 years, had gotten married, had had a baby, and had not studied Korean much beyond what I’d learned in my first 6 months in the country. Even with a Korean wife and Korean in-laws, my motivation to learn Korean had dried up as soon as things got comfortable.
