This is pretty unique!~
One of our previous students has put ALL of the Beginner class vocabulary into Anki language packs and made them available to users on this site. They are divided into the same 14 weeks we have them divided into. (Actually, the filetype is .apkg for AnkiDroid packages.)
What is Anki?
For those not familiar with Anki, it is:
A spaced repetitionflashcard program. The software is similar to SuperMemo, a commercial product for the same purpose, and Mnemosyne, another free flashcard program. Anki (暗記) is the Japanese word for “memorizing”.
Anki is available for Download on all major platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone, and Android) so that you can use it in multiple places (even on your mobile device on your daily commute!).
Here’s a great tutorial showing the basics of Anki 2.0:
What is AnkiDroid?
AnkiDroid is the Android version of Anki. Here’s a great video overview of the app from the Google Play Store.
I have not yet personally used Anki, but have heard incredible things about it – including that it is THE best way to memorize new vocabulary words. Because of that (and it’s mobility) I’ll look forward to getting my own feet wet with Anki over the next few months.
